The LBUM works with two limited partnerships: VAL-CHUM, from the University of Montreal Hospital and  Univalor, from the University of Montreal, for the commercialization of their technologies.

 

To date, our total assets include patents for:

• A multimodality vascular imaging phantom;

• A method to automatically segment the atherosclerotic vascular wall from intravascular ultrasound images;

• Methods to characterize mechanical properties of vascular tissues with ultrasound elastography.  This technology regroups three applications:

   

  • Non-invasive vascular ultrasound elastography (NIVE);

  • Non-invasive microvascular ultrasound elastography (MicroNIVE);

  • Endovascular ultrasound elastography (EVE);

• A method to segment the vascular wall and atherosclerotic plaques from ultrasonic B-mode images;

• A method to measure in vivo with ultrasound the extent of red blood cell aggregation;

• A method to measure the structure of normal and pathological tendons from ultrasonic B-mode images.
